Remove and clean carb. Idle jet, port that supplies fuel at idle is restricted/clogged. Blow out ports/jets with compressed air
i have a scooter myself, its a bug bandit,i leave the servicing to the experts.Take it to a motorbike service shop, and let them tune it for you.Just might need a fuel mixture adjustment.I had similar prob, died under acceleration, its runns a bit richer now,and goes like a beauty.
Well you have to remove the carb and clean all the jets.
If it will not idle the jets are cloged with junk from letting it sit so long.
Clean carb and it will Iddle and run great again
clean / replace spark plug was good thinking
That’s the easiest and cheapest thing look at first
more likely to be dirty carbs or mixture adjustment. Mechanic should be able to adjust for less than $20 or free if you’re nice
next, and very probable in a bike of that age is that the rubber in the carb has perished and the rubber parts need to be replaced. If it has been sitting for a really long time, the fuel may have corroded parts of the carb and the slides or the whole carb may need replacing
last option is the centrifical clutch may be a little sticky
Most likely the carb needs to be cleaned. A quick check - scooters don’t like to run good with a dirty air cleaner. But I think it’s the carburetor
well first things first, there is a little screw on the side of the carborater, this is the idle screw, you can simply twist the screw and it will determine how much gas is given to the carborater when it is itleing, generally idle it up or down, try idleing it up, if that dosent work then try cleaning the jets, if it was sitting for a while it may very well be the jets, but i would try to simplify first know wat i mean
