Last weekend I thought it would be fun to ride with two people despite it having a seat made for only one, so I took it on a back-road and pushed myself to the very front of the seat so my g/f could ride in back (we’re both petite and our combined weight is about 280lbs.).

Amazingly…the scooter still managed about 35mph with us both…only 2mph slower than the 37mph I can go on it with just myself riding…despite substantially slower acceleration and worse braking ability (I treated it as if I was riding in rain). I was also light on the engine during acceleration b/c I didn’t want to risk the engine’s over-heating.

My real question is….can a police man actually pull me just over for taking a second person on such a small scooter…and/or are there any other issues I should be aware of?
