Before you get a K$N ( the dollar sign is intentional because it will cost you one way or another), look at this test:

An engine can only draw a certain amount of air at a selected RPM as determined by the engine size and volumetric efficiency.
Most small engines have air filters that already are capable of flowing more air than they can use.
